art nouveau thank you

Hello everyone. It’s the last weekend before Christmas and I’m a bit earlier posting today’s card – we’ve got a Christmas play at my church this evening, with final rehearsals this afternoon and I’m then having supper with a friend to watch the Strictly Come Dancing final. It’s all go! Anyway, the Bijou Art Nouveau stamp collection was still out on my desk, so I’ve made a head start on my thank you cards (I’m hoping for a decent haul from Santa…!)

I spotted these two little flower stamps in the set and decided they’d sit nicely together, so stamped them in the corner of a 5×5 card blank. I then gently brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Ink around them, using a torn piece of copy paper to lightly sponge ‘bundled sage’ for the ground.

Next was to shade in the flowers with my Polychromo pencils – a blend of the pink & purple from the Spring set, together with the green for the leaves.

I added the sentiment from the stamp collection, but felt it still needed something more to pull it all together. That’s when I spotted the little corner stamp – perfect!

Don’t you think that’s a pretty little scene – and so easy to do. I’m sharing this with a couple of current challenges, for Color Dare‘s pastels theme and Triple B‘s blooms.
