holly art nouveau

Hello friends. Another late evening post today – life is just so busy in this final run up to Christmas! Anyway, better late than never and I’m here with a card using the Bijou Art Nouveau Collection of stamps that Barbara was showcasing this morning over on Clarity’s YouTube channel. These images are just perfect for my favourite CAS cards and I’ve gone with another Christmas themed one today (although this is really making an early start on my 2026 stash as all this year’s are in the post!)

I stamped a few of the holly image onto scrap card and shaded in the leaves and berries with Polychromo pencils – ‘pine green’ from the Winter set for the holly and ‘madder’ from the Autumn one for the berries. I then smoothed out the shading on the leaves with Dorso oil and a blending nib – the one on the right is ‘before’ and the left hand image ‘after’.

I shaded in the central area with ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide and a waterbrush, so that the white frame stood out more and then cut out the topper.

I added the sentiments from the set into the frame using black Archival ink, then mounted the topper on a piece of beige Antarctica companion paper that I’d edged with a black Sharpie. I used a square embedder to emboss a frame onto the front of an A6 card blank (I didn’t have a rectangle one that was the right size) – this was a two part process, doing the top and sides first, then moving it slightly downwards to do the bottom and finish the sides. The topper then sat neatly within it.

Have you finished all your Christmas cards, or are you on a last minute rush? I’ve just got a few final hand delivered ones to write and then I’m all done! I took inspiration for this one from the the colours at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the ‘quick CAS Christmas card’ theme at Make My Monday.
