simply sending love

Hello crafty friends. I’ve stripped it right back again on today’s card with one of Linda’s Christmas Floral Rounds stamps, and the beauty of these stamps is that they’re not only for Christmas – the lovely images work for other occasions too.

Here’s a quick run through my process, starting with one of the 3.5″ squares of stencil card. I used a circle embedder to emboss a frame onto the card, then stamped the Christmas rose silhouette into the centre with black Archival ink.

I masked off around the flower image with the outer part of a pre-cut one that comes with the stamps, the lightly sponged ‘antique linen’ Distress Oxide over the petals. I deepened the colour in the centre with a little ‘saltwater taffy’, trying to keep as close as I could to the actual tones of a Christmas rose.

I then simply added one of the curved sentiments from the set, sitting it above the embossed frame, mounted the topper on a 4×4 piece of companion paper and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

You know I love a CAS card, so I’m off to share this one with AAA Cards (I didn’t take their option of white on white) and We Love Stamping for their ‘anything goes’ theme.
