A gift for you

Hello crafty friends. Well, after the new goodies I’ve been playing with over the last few days, I took a turn on today’s little creation and dipped back into the Craft Club for the ‘wrapped in lace’ stamp (#205) from November 2023. It’s such a pretty design, I really should use it more – today I’ve put it to use on a gift tag (something else I don’t do very often!)

The first step was to cut my tag using the largest of the Nested Luggage Tag dies – in fact I cut two, one in white card and the second from Antarctica Companion Paper, then glued them together using Pritt stick and added a white card rectangle into the front. That gave me a nice sturdy construction.

Having found a dark blue offcut of Antarctica Designer paper, I stamped the ‘wrapped in lace’ image onto it, heat embossed it with WOW’s superfine white powder and fussy cut it.

I cut another small piece of the Antarctica Companion paper, trimmed the end into a banner shape and glued it onto the tag. I could then add one of the white Christmas Rub-On Sentiments before gluing scrap card onto the back of the fussy cut present and sticking it on the tag. A couple of final touches (three dark blue matt gems and a double bow of white ribbon) and it was finished.

I’m really pleased with this and probably should make more tags for gifts (I already know where this one is headed!) And of course, I’ve pulled a few challenges together with this design, starting with the layout from Atlantic Hearts and the ‘gifting’ theme from The Paper Players. I then added in the colours from Color Dare and the top row of texture (from the heat embossing), blue & bow from TicTacToe.

  1. I don’t make tags too often either, although I do like a tag on a card front. That gift box is gorgeous and makes a great focal point. Thanks for sharing with us again at The Paper Players.
