fairy lights

Hello everyone. Here we are at Monday again and it feels like we’re starting on the rapid run into Christmas! I’ve gone for a very sparkly design today, inspired by a card I made at a craft class with the brilliant Marion Emberson of WOW powders! You actually don’t need many supplies for this, just a pen, some glue and plenty of glitter!

I started with an A6 card blank, folded in landscape orientation and used a micron pen to draw lines of varying length at 1cm intervals. I then used Perga glue to add dots along each line (it works well as it’s got a fine nozzle), doing them one string at a time and sprinkling with WOW Sparkles glitter. Working on each line in turn enables you to use different colour glitters on each one – I went with Oh Dorothy (red) and Jade (green).

Having glittered all the lines, I left the card for a couple of hours to let the glue dry before adding the sentiment from the I Am Essential – Christmas set.

Here’s a closer look at the fab sparkle on these strings of fairy lights. I think it could work well with Perga glitter on black card too (you’d probably need to draw the strings with a white or metallic gel pen)

I’m sharing this with a few current blog challenges, starting with the Christmassy colours at Colorful Options. I also picked up a few of the items from the inspo list at Festive Friday (red, green, white & stripes) and finally adding it to the ‘anything goes’ gallery at Merry Little Christmas.

  1. What a fabulous card!!! The design is wonderful and one I am certainly going to try. May do it with tiny gems. I just love it – everything about!
