Celeste

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got a new Clarity character for you to meet today – here’s Celeste from the new Friends, Sisters & Angels collection. I was playing with her this afternoon while watching Barbara on Clarity Social TV showcasing the whole collection. The figures (Alice, Celeste & Evelyn) have got additional wings & haloes so there’s lots of options for using them.

The first step was to stamp the larger Celeste figure onto Clarity’s new super smooth paper and added her wings, all with black Archival ink.

I then shaded her in with Polychromo pencils. For once, I selected my backing paper first (from the Amazonia designer collection) and then picked out shades that reflected it! I fussy cut the figure right along the stamped edge, so I didn’t have a white border. I glued the Amazonia paper onto a 6×6 card blank and then glued Celeste onto that.

I pulled out my grey Polychromos and went round Celeste to add a drop shadow, so that she stood out more from the background. Finally, I added something suitable from the sentiments set in the collection – this is going off to a friend who’s having a difficult time at the moment.

Once again, I’ve pulled a few challenges together in this card, starting with the tones from Color Hues. My Amazonia paper background qualifies for Love Those Pretty Papers and the style is, of course, Simple Clean & Simple!
