Joining Addicted to Stamps & More at Christmas!

Hello crafty friends and welcome to a rather late post today (it’s 11pm here in the UK!) There’s a reason for that – I’m delighted to have been invited to join the design team at Addicted to Stamps & More and their posts go out on an afternoon US timezone. So welcome to their last challenge of 2025 which, appropriately enough, is a Christmas theme and I took the opportunity to put the new Retro Candle stamp from Clarity into action!

I started with a 5×5 card blank and partially embossed a frame around two sides of a small square embedder (the left hand side and the lower edge). I then positioned the candle stamp alongside the embossed lines and stamped it with black Archival ink.

I ran low tack tape along the embossed edges and lightly brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Ink into the background around the candle, working in one direction out from the masked embossed edges. I then stamped the image again onto an offcut of Antarctica designer paper, fussy cut each section and glued them over the image on the card using a Pritt stick. I added a little shading to the flames with yellow & orange polychromo pencils.

I thought it needed a little highlight to lift it, so picked out the stripes on the candles and the dots on the flames with a fine white Posca pen.

So do come over and play with us at Addicted to Stamps & More – drop over to the challenge to see more inspiration from the rest of the team. It’s been one of my favourite challenges for a while now, so it’s a delight to be part of their design team.

  1. Congratulations on the new design Team – I don’t know how you find the time to create such amazing cards and work – I’m virtually retired and I struggle…. love the way you did this and the use of the patterned paper for the candles – great idea. xx
