Pru’s holly wreath

Hello everyone. I was catching up with Barbara’s show on Clarity Social TV from this afternoon and realised that I hadn’t shared today’s card with you, so here it is now – better late than never! Meet Pru, one of the mini Christmas Poppets stamps – I paired her with the holly wreath from the Christmas Rounds stencils to match the holly in her little basket.

I worked directly onto a 5×5 card blank and started by running the stencil through my embossing machine to give the image some definition, then sponged ‘peacock feathers’ Distress Oxide through it. I kept the stencil in place and used a pink Perga colour pen to pick out the holly berries.

I stamped Pru into the centre of the wreath and coloured her with matching Faber Castell polychromo pencils (pink madder & cobalt green), using a grey pencil to add shading to her wings and basket and a drop shadow around the image.

To finish, I stamped one of the I Am Essential Christmas sentiments in ‘watering can’ Archival, then used a square embedder to emboss a frame around Pru and her wreath.

I do love these colours together. I’ve taken them from the palette at Creative Colour Challenges. The wreath stencil works for the theme at Just Add Ink and Merry Little Christmas as always welcome anything with a Christmas theme.

  1. This is adorable Deborah, the colours are stunning on the white and the added depth from the stencil embossing is a lovely effect. Thanks so much for joining us at Just Add Ink.
