entwined cats

Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend! I’m off out with the family for a celebratory meal today, as it was my son’s partner’s birthday this week. She’s a cat lover (they have one black and a second white one), so Clarity’s Entwined Cats stamps were just perfect for her card, especially with one of the quote stamps.

I started with a square of stencil card cut to 5×5 inches and stamped the ‘happy birthday’ quote into the centre – it was then easy to add the two larger cat images, one on each side. I thought it looked a little flat, so added a drop shadow around each cat with a couple of grey pencils, which you can hopefully see in the second pic – it just lifts them off the page a little.

I then simply added a mount of black card that I’d cut with one of the hearts doodle frame-it panel dies and popped it onto a 7×7 card blank.

I’ve had these stamps for ages but not really put them into action! One of the advantages of having this little blog is I can check all the cards I’ve made in the last five and a half years and these moggies don’t feature anywhere! I’ve picked up a few challenges with this card too, starting with Neglected Stuff (obviously!) The quote sentiment works for Word Power and Seize the Birthday‘s ‘anything goes’ option. I’ll be back tomorrow with another little offering for you.
