Hello crafty friends! I’m here with a peek at some more new goodies that Barbara is launching on Clarity Social TV tomorrow (Friday) at 10am – meet Barbara’s Big Blooms! I’ve gone with the A5 square stripey flowers set for this card, keeping it CAS. Those who came to the Open Days last weekend got the first chance to buy these – they were being demonstrated by the brilliant Eileen Godwin, but now on the main website.

Starting with a square of card cut slightly smaller than a 5×5 blank, I stamped the single flower spray in black Archival, then added the stemmed stripey flower to the right, followed by the small leafy stem. I overlapped them all to create a little bouquet.

Then it was out with my Perga liner pencil to shade the images – I blended turquoise (B16) and green (B6) for a lovely teal shade on the leaves, with the berry tones from B14 on the flowers. I decided to add a little bee from the Just Butterflies & Bees set (although I don’t know what he’s doing out in this cold snap that’s arrived – he should be tucked up in a nice warm hive!) I used a square embedder to emboss a frame just inside the edge of the topper and then attached it to the card blank. The final touch was to add one of the sentiments from the set – these are great fonts!

These are such pretty stamps – I can see them getting quite a bit of use! I’ve played along with a few blog challenges for inspiration too on this one. AAA Cards have got a 1+1 game, taking ‘birthday’ from their grid and adding one of the other elements – I went with ‘flowers’. I then took the colours from Creative Colour Challenges plus the ‘blooms’ elements of Triple B.
