merry & bright tree

Hello crafty friends. I’m still working my way through all the demo pieces from the Open Days at the weekend, so here’s another one using the Winter Wonderland stamp set. This time I’ve paired up the single tree with the matching silhouette piece for another Christmas card.

I started with one of the small squares of stencil card, added a mini moon mask, sponged ‘uncharted mariner’ and ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxides onto the tree silhouette background and planted it into place. I then added the single tree in black Archival ink, offsetting it slightly to still show a little of the white as a highlight (although I may have slightly overcooked it and moved a fraction too far…)

Never mind – it is what it is! I edged the topper with a black Sharpie and attached it to the front of a 5×5 card blank having used a square embedder to emboss a frame onto the card front first. Next was to add a work sticker from the Birthday & Christmas Collection and, for a final flourish, I ran a Quickie glue pen around the white areas on the tree before scattering Perga glitter over it.

It was difficult to capture the sparkle in the photos, so here’s a close up.

Once again, this one’s heading for a couple of challenges. I’ve taken a slightly loose interpretation of the sketch at Sunday Stamps with ‘anything goes’ from Merry Little Christmas. See you again tomorrow!
