thank you card at Sparkles Challenge

Hello crafty friends. It’s been another busy day demonstrating at Clarity Crafts’ Open Days – lots of interest in this Winter Wonderland stamp set which I combined with one of Barb’s Landscape backdrop prints to make a card of thanks for our new theme of ‘thank you’ at Sparkles Challenge. I’ve made several copies of this design over the last couple of days – it’s always gratifying when people like what you’ve made.

I chose one of the larger toppers, thinking that the space across the centre of the image looked a little like a lake. I ran low tack tape down the side and across the bottom, then stamped the single tree three times with black Archival ink, turning it on it’s side to add plants along the lower edge. I then added the two deer, plus the stag from the Woodland Scene set – he’s smaller than the one in the Winter Wonderland set, which helped with the perspective.

I used a torn piece of copy paper and a sponge with ‘shadow grey’ Archival to add the ground beneath all the images, then stamped the sentiment from the Occasions – thank you set and ran a black Sharpie down both sides of the topper. I popped a strip of Waimea Fall companion paper down each side of a 6×6 card blank and added the topper into the centre.

I’m late sharing this one – it’s been so busy over the last couple of days that I forgot to schedule this post for this morning. Apologies to my Sparkles team-mates, but I hope it was worth waiting for!
