ivy rounds panel

Hello craft friends. It’s been wet and grey here today and I’ve been sat in work meetings a lot of the time, but I thought I’d take a moment to brighten my evening with a look at another of the cards I demo’d on Clarity Social TV on Friday afternoon using the new Linda’s Floral Rounds stamps.

I do love an inked panel and haven’t done one for a while, so time for a revisit I thought! I first cut a piece of stencil card slightly smaller than a 6×6 card blank and used low tack tape to mask off the lower third for my panel. I then brushed ‘peacock feathers’ and ‘uncharted mariner’ Distress Oxides across it, keeping it light and gradually building up the colours to blend them together for a lovely ombre effect. I could then stamp the semi-circle sentiments across the panel in black Archival ink – I didn’t go right over to the right-hand side as I wanted to make sure I had enough space to add the ivy circles.

Having the sentiments stamped meant it was easier to line up the ivy images inside them, and I could then add a final bit of a sentiment in the right-hand corner to finish it. I added a little shade to the ivy leaves with a green Pergaliner pencil.

I doodled a line across the top edge of the inked panel and then stamped the two curved sentiments above it. I decided it didn’t need any mounts or other borders so simply attached it directly to the 6×6 card blank.

I do hope you’re not bored of these fab stamps yet – I’ve got one last flourish to share with you tomorrow! Before then, I’m going to share this with Allsorts Challenge for their Christmas Cards theme.
