holly squares

Hello friends. I’m back with another of my demos from Friday’s Clarity Social TV shows using the new Linda’s Floral Rounds. This card was inspired by a masterpiece creation by my design team-mate Jane, using the Framework Squares stencil and both sets of stamps (the silhouette ones work as infills for the outline images, as well as on their own).

So, taking a piece of stencil card cut to 5 inches square, I overlaid the Framework Stencil on it to be able to use just four of the apertures and started to brush Distress Oxides through it – first with ‘antique linen’, then blending in ‘kitsch flamingo’ and ‘tumbled glass’. After lifting the stencil, I stamped the outline holly image into each of the four squares. I wanted to add a background colour to the images, so swapped to the matching silhouette stamp, lining it up with one of Clarity’s Mega Mounts – I sponged the ‘tumbled glass onto the stamp and added it to each of the four holly images.

I shaded the holly leaves and berries with Pergaliner pencils, then embossed an inner frame around the edge of the topper using one of the square embedders. Next was to run a black Sharpie around the topper’s edges, attach it to a 6×6 card blank and finish with one of the Birthday & Christmas word stickers.

You already know that I love it when I can combine stamp sets and these work perfectly together! I’m popping this creation into a couple of challenges, starting with the ‘diecuts or stencils’ theme at Addicted to Stamps & More plus Stencil Fun.
