floral peace on earth

Hello everyone! I’ve had a bit of a day off today after all the excitement of yesterday’s Clarity Social TV shows – I always love my days up at Clarity Towers but it’s pretty full-on (or maybe that’s just my age showing…!) Anyway, I thought I’d share one of the cards using Linda’s Floral Rounds from the 10am show, keeping it nice & simple to show off these beautiful images.

I started with a piece of Clarity’s 3.5″ stencil card and stamped one of the outline images into the centre. I covered it with one of the pre-cut masks that come with the stamps and then lightly dusted ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide around the image using a stencil brush.

I shaded the image with Pergaliner pencils, before adding the fab semi-circle sentiments around the image. Jazz has done a brilliant job of designing these so that you can line them up – one part of the sentiment has the solid dot at each end, and the other half has a little circle. Line those up over each other and you’ve got the perfect fit! I should say that I left the circle mask in place when I lined these up, stamping them one at a time – the darker edge of the mask made it easier to see where they needed to sit. I must also confess that I slightly misaligned the dots at the end of each sentiment, but managed a quick rescue by going over them with a micron pen!

The final touch was to add a mount of the 4×4 Rainbow River companion paper – it’s a perfect fit for the small stencil card squares. It then sat neatly on a 5×5 card blank and didn’t need anything else!

I love the way these stamps work on their own and together – I’ve got more to share over the next couple of days. This one’s off to make an appearance in a couple of challenge galleries too – Cardz4Galz have got ‘colouring’ as their theme and Simply Clean & Simple‘s optional twist is ‘holidays/winter’.
