Hello crafty friends. Barbara Gray’s up on the HobbyMaker channel today with some fab new Clarity products that I think will fly out of the door. One of them is this gorgeous little set of festive leafy BOW-WOB papers, smaller than the previous sets at just 5×5 inches but no less fantastic! I’ve added colour to this piece with a gel plate (read on for the details) and chopped it up to make a layered card which I’m going to share with a couple of challenges – ‘any occasion’ at Addicted to Stamps & More and ‘anything goes’ at Love Those Pretty Papers.

So, the first thing was to add some colour to the BOW-WOB (black on white, white on black) paper using my gel plate. I brayered ‘rustic wilderness’ and ‘crushed olive’ Distress Oxides onto the gel plate, laid the BOW-WOB face down onto it, lightly rubbed the back and pulled the paper off. That put the green shades into all the white areas. I still had residual ink on the gel plate though, where the black areas of the paper had resisted it – I simply then used the gel plate as a stamp to print the image onto a piece of Clarity’s stencil card. Very easy two-for-one backgrounds!

I grabbed my nested square dies and cut the BOW-WOB paper into three pieces, then mounted each on a co-ordinating mat from the Indian Summer companion paper set.

I used the largest square embedder to emboss a frame onto a 7×7 card blank and then layered up each of the paper segments onto it, starting with the largest first. I used glue for this so I had a bit of wiggle room to make sure the design on the paper was fully lined up. I finished with one of the Pinky Gray word stickers, also mounted a a piece of the Indian Summer paper, and that was it!

I haven’t done this design for a while, but it’s a great way to showcase lovely papers.
