starry sparkles

Hello crafty friends. I’m in full-on sparkle mode today with this card using Clarity’s Art Nouveau Christmas stars stencil, thanks to a healthy dose of WOW embossing powder! I pulled out this stencil thanks to the prompts from Inkspirational and Just Us Girls – I do love the images in Clarity’s Art Nouveau collection of stamps & stencils.

So this is another one that came together fairly quickly, following my theme of the past couple of days. I lined up the stencil on one of Clarity’s 6×4.5″ stencil card toppers and simply squished my Versamark clear inkpad through it, making sure I got into all the gaps, then removed the stencil. I’d pulled out three co-ordinating pots of WOW’s powder (Candy Floss, Tanzanite & Magical Mauve), so scattered them in turn over the inked background and then heated the whole piece to set it.

I trimmed the card down, added a mount of Antarctica companion paper (ask me how long that took to choose…!) and attached the topper to a 6×6 card blank. I mounted one of the Birthdays & Christmas word stickers onto a small piece of the companion paper and glued it into place, with a bit of scrap card under the right had side so it sat level. The final touch was a couple of star Glossies that had been sitting in my stash for longer than I care to admit!

I’ve got a whole tray of coloured WOW powders sitting on my shelf – I don’t use them all that often, so they may be there for some time to come yet…!

  1. Wow Deborah! I have fallen for your beautiful blingy embossing on that fabulous stencil. Love how you used different toned colours for such a stunning result. Thanks so much for sharing at JUGS this week.
