build a Christmas wreath

Hello friends. Well, Clarity have got a mega Autumn sale underway this week, with up to 70% off products across their range, so I thought I’d spend the next few days showcasing a few of my favourites and see whether I can tempt you in! Now, many of you will already know that I adore the Build a Wreath stamps and today I’ve built a Christmas wreath using the winter set. I’ve picked up a couple of current challenges with this one as well – Allsorts are looking for traditional Christmas colours and ABC Christmas have got U for Uncluttered (ie CAS), so hopefully this one hits the mark.

I took one of Clarity’s small 3.5″ squares of stencil card and drew myself a pencil circle as a guideline for the wreath. I then used ‘pine needles’ Distress Ink to alternately stamp the ivy and holly images, using second generation for the holly to give it a bit of light and shade.

I could then fill in the rest of the wreath, with ‘fired brick’ for the poinsettias and ‘carved pumpkin’ for the orange slices. I have to say, the stamp pens make using these little stamps so easy!

I added a little cluster of baubles hanging from the top of the wreath, again in the ‘fired brick’, and inserted the sentiment from the Christmas Wreaths set – it fitted perfectly. After running round the edges of the topper with a dark green Sharpie, I simply attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

I’ve actually been batch making these – easy with all the little stamps mounted on the stamp pens. And the even better news is that all the products I’ve used are in Clarity’s sale, so it’s the perfect time to top up on basics as well – it’s running until midnight on Sunday.
