party time

Hello friends. I’ve done a bit more finishing off with some of the backgrounds that I made during Saturday’s workshop with the gel press plate and alcohol inks. This was an offcut strip I had from a piece using a stencil – I decided it would make a great panel with the Meadowdance stamp picking up the rainbow theme from Colorful Options. There are fireworks going off all around here tonight (and have been over the weekend) with people celebrating Diwali and I thought the inky pattern on this looked like a firework display.

So, here’s the panel of stencil card that I started with, before I cut it down to fit across a 5×5 card blank.

I stamped the meadowdance image across the panel – it wasn’t quite lone enough so I reinked it and lined it up to complete the picture across the card. I then attached it across a black 5×5 card blank and trimmed the panel edges level with the card.

All it needed to finish was one of the KISS word stickers – although maybe it should have said ‘celebrate your night’ as it’s on a black card!!

They really look like they’re enjoying the firework party, don’t they, although I’m not sure the deer would look quite as calm with it in real life! My cat, Benji, is safely tucked up indoors tonight.
