Welcome to Friday and the first of two cards I’ve got to share with you today. This one is for our new theme at Alphabet Challenge, where Pamela has given us N for Night. Now, I said yesterday that you may be seeing a few more Christmas cards from me and I’m keeping my word with this one! I picked up ‘silent night’ as my theme for this one, with the angels image from Clarity’s recent Christmas Backdrop Sampler set.

I thought that the palette at Creative Colour Challenges would work for this image, together with the ‘anything goes’ challenge at The Holly & Ivy.

I started with a 5×5 card blank and decided to make this a one layer card. I took the square blank background (second down on the right in the set), brayered it with ‘kitsch flamingo’ and ‘villainous potion’ Distress Oxides and stamped it into the centre of the card front.

I could then line up the angels image over the background stamp (Clarity’s mega mounts are ideal for this as they have etched guidelines in them), ink it with ‘watering can’ Archival and stamp it into place. (Watering can is the nearest shade I’ve got to the ‘secret sea’ in Creaive Colour’s palette).

I added the sentiments from Linda’s We Three Kings set, heat embossing them in gold, and drew a partial frame with a gold metallic pen and a ruler. My final touch was to highlight the stars in the sky with a fine white Posca pen.

So, what would you take be on our ‘night’ theme at Alphabet Challenge? Come on over and show us!

Those angels are perfect for this card. I love how you framed it with the sentiments.
