autumn leaves & pumpkins at Sparkles Challenge

Hello crafty friends. I’ve got another new challenge to share with you today – this time it’s our next theme of ‘autumn leaves & pumpkins’ at Sparkles Challenges. Well, I knew exactly where I was going with my DT card for this one, and that was straight back to Clarity’s Autumn Build a Wreath stamp set!

You won’t be surprised to see that I’ve incorporated a few other challenges into this one as well, starting with the top row of wreath, leaves & stencil from TicTacToe‘s grid. The autumn theme on my card works for the ‘seasonal’ challenge at Inkspirational plus the ‘pumpkins’ optional twist at Simply Clean & Simple.

I started with a small square of Clarity’s stencil card and lightly brushed ‘pumice stone’ Distress Oxide through the 4×4 brick wall stencil onto it. I used the smallest circle embedder as a template to draw a pencil guideline on the card and stamped the little pumpkin from the autumn wreath set around it using ‘carved pumpkin’ Distress Oxide (obviously!)

I could then fill in the rest of the wreath with a couple of the leaf stamps in ‘candied apple’ and ‘rustic wilderness’, scattering a little starry image around the edges in ‘broken china’.

I found a co-ordinating paper in the Indian Summer set , mounted the topper and attached it to a 5×5 card blank, having first embossed a frame on it with a square embedder. The final touch was to add one of the I Am Essential – Birthday sentiments.

There’s more inspiration from the rest of the design team over on Sparkles Challenge blog to help you get started with our autumnal theme, so come on over and play!
