Hello crafty friends. I’ve got more flowers to share with you today, this time using one of the little sprays that come as part of the Seasonal Garlands Personalised stamp set. While these are perfect for personalising your creations, the garlands can be used on their own as well – more bang for your buck!
I based this on on the layout at Atlantic Hearts, although I changed it to a square card rather than rectangular. Cardz4Galz are looking for purple & green on cards, which also fits with the ‘add purple’ theme at The Flower Challenge.
I started with one of Clarity’s small 3.5″ squares of stencil card and one of the small pieces from the A4 square aperture mat stencil. I lined it up as a diamond on the card, drew myself a pencil guideline around it and stamped the little floral garland twice with black Archival ink. I rubbed the pencil lines out, then repositioned the piece of stencil and used it as an embedder, embossing it on the reverse of the card to create an embedded frame. I had to do a bit of estimating as to how far to take the embossing on the back of the card, as I didn’t want to go through the floral images.
It was then out with my trusty Pergaliner pencils to shade in the flowers, before adding one of the I Am Essential – Birthday sentiments into the centre.
I found a co-ordinating piece of companion paper in the Shenandoah pack for my mount and then simply attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank.
I was so pleased with how this turned out and there’s lots of options for this design with the four garlands in the stamp set and a variety of the birthday sentiments.
