autumn favourites at As You See It Challenge

I’m back with my second card today – this time for our new challenge at As You See It and it’s a seasonal one as we want to know what your favourite thing about autumn is. For me, it’s the gorgeous changing tones in the leaves and so I immediately reached for Clarity’s Elementree stamps (which I’ve now realised I used one our last challenge too – can’t keep a good thing down!)

I took the sketch from Sunday Stamps for my layout and both Inspire.Create & Make My Monday have helpfully got autumnal themes.

So, having cut a piece of card to fit an A6 card blank I stamped a row of the leaves in ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I then coloured them with a waterbrush and Distress Oxides (‘carved pumpkin’, ‘barn door’ & villainous potion’) – I smooshed the ink onto one of Clarity’s mix mats which made it easy to pick up with the brush.

I managed to get a bit of a smudge on the background, so decided the best way to disguise it was to splatter more of the ‘carved pumpkin’ across it by tapping the waterbrush! I then simply added the sentiment from Linda’s Lilies stamp set and attached the topper to the A6 card blank.

We’re predicted to have a beautiful autumn in the UK this year after the hot summer – there are already some lovely rich red tones in the trees in my neighbourhood.

  1. WOW! Stunning!
I am also in agreement the changing colours of the leaves always brings me so much joy. Not so keen on the wind and the rain that ruins the getting out to see them more though! 🤣
