hopeful roses

Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another of the stamps from Tina’s Flowers Sampler set – this time I paired it with the Art Nouveau Bed of Roses stencil for a soft background. This works well for the stencil theme at Just Us Girls and picks up the sketch at The Paper Players.

I started with a piece of Clarity’s 3.5″ square stencil card and used an embedder to emboss an inner frame on it. I ran low tack tape around the edges and then brushed ‘kitsch flamingo’ Distress Oxide through the Bed of Roses stencil, working from the outside in to keep the centre clear.

I stamped the ‘dream, believe, hope’ floral image into the centre of the card using ‘watering can’ Archival ink and coloured it with Pergaliner pencils. I then simply added a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper and attached it to a 5×5 card blank.

I do like the the effect of the soft pink stencilling in the background of this – I keep saying that I should make more use of my stencils and this time I definitely mean it!!

  1. How gorgeous, Deborah! I love that softly stencilled background – it really adds to the beauty of the baubles. The deeper pink border really makes the baubles pop. Thanks for sharing with us at The Paper Players.

  2. The block print with the flowers trailing down and the sentiments is absolutely charming, and your coloring with pencils looks lovely, Deborah! The soft stenciling in the background is wonderful in its subtly. Thank you so much for joining in this week at the Paper Players!
