CAS Colours & Sketches 570 – Nancy’s sketch

Hello crafty friends. We’ve got a new challenge to inspire you at CAS Colours & Sketches – Nancy has given us a great sketch to play with. I opted to go with one of Clarity’s triangle people for the central shape, pulling in the colours from Color Dare for my DT card.

Now you’ll recall that I do love a bit of masking and this card was no exception! I started by stamping one of the triangle people onto a piece of Clarity’s stencil card that I’d cut to fit on an A6 card blank. I cut a mask for her from Clarity’s blank material and then overlaid that with the outer part of one of the full moon masks, protecting the card around the edges with low tack tape. I could then sponge a little ‘mustard seed’ Distress Ink into the aperture to create a sun behind my little character.

I popped the inner part of the moon mask into place before removing the outer one, which helped me get it lined up accurately to cover the sun, then ran a couple more strips of low tack tape across the card to give me the edges of my background stripes. I created those by sponging ‘tumbled glass’ and ‘peeled paint’ inks, dragging them outwards from the masks.

I cut a dress for my little lady from a scrap of Antarctica designer paper and glued it into place using Pritt stick. I ran a black Sharpie around the card edges, popped one of the KISS word stickers onto the topper and attached it to the A6 card blank.

There’s so much potential in this sketch – how will you use it?
