Tina’s flowers

Hello crafty friends! I’m back in harness today after spending the last month with my closest friends on a journey across Australia! We had a fabulous time, but it’s now back to reality for me with a dose of jetlag and having to get my own meals! Back on the crafting bus, I’ve got a fairly simple CAS birthday card to start with, using Tina’s Flowers Sampler stamp set from ClarityCrafts – Barbara Gray will be putting these through their paces on Clarity Social TV at 2pm UK time today. I’ve done a bit of fussy cutting to decoupage the flower, but I decided it was so pretty that it didn’t need anything else.

I started with a 5×5 card blank and embossed a frame on the front using one of the pop out pieces from Clarity’s square aperture mat stencil. I the simply stamped the flower image into the centre using black Archival ink, and stamped two additional ones onto scrap card.

Next was to add a bit of colour to the images using Pergaliner pencils – I just lightly shaded the one on the card front and added the most depth to the one that would be on top. I then fussy cut the two additional pieces (it’s easiest to colour them first), keeping the leaves on one and just the flower on the second.

Having popped a bit of scrap card onto the back of the two fussy cut pieces, I glued them over the stamped image on the card front and then simply added one of the Occasions sentiments.

Here’s a closer look at the layers on the flower.

Barb will have more inspiration with these stamps this afternoon. I’m heading off to share this one with a few challenges as well – I’ve picked up the ‘bloom’ theme from Triple B, the CAS theme at Stamping Sensations and the optional ‘birthday’ twist at Simply Clean & Simple.
