sunset colours for As You See It Challenge 357

Hello everyone. Just popping in with another scheduled post for the next challenge at As You See It – this time Joanne has given us a fabulous colour palette to play with. Our photos are always there to help with a little inspiration, and this time (as you can no doubt see) I based my card on it.

I cut a piece of Clarity’s stencil card to 4″ square and used an embedder to emboss a frame onto it around the edge. I then masked a slightly wider border around the card with low tack tape, added a moon mask and blended ‘carved pumpkin’, ‘ripe persimmon’ and ‘hickory smoke’ Distress Oxides onto it, working from the bottom up.

I switched the moon mask for the outer part and found the grunge texture stamp (#187) from Clarity’s Craft Club back in 2023. I inked the stamp with ‘speckled egg’ Distress Oxide and stamped it across the moon. Next was to add one of the Elementree stamps in watering can, using the top of another of them to add the foliage across the ground. Once I’d done all that, I could remove the low tack tape.

Having run a black Sharpie around the card edges, I attached it to a 6×6 card blank and finished with one of the I Am Essential birthday sentiments.

So do come and play along with us at As You See It with these fabulous colours. What will you make of them?
