celebration

Hello crafty friends and welcome to what will be my last post for a few weeks, as I’m taking a bit of a break from crafting (don’t panic, I will be back!) This card is for a happy occasion, as I needed and engagement card and decided to make use of the new Triangle People set that Barbara drew and I picked up at the recent Clarity summer retreat. After yesterday’s painty offering, I’m back in my happy place today with a stripped back interpretation of the new sketch at The Paper Players and the CAS theme at Inkspirational.

The first step was to cut a small square of card using one of the hearts doodle frame-it panel dies and stamped the triangle couple onto it with black Archival ink. I masked the edges of the frame with low tack tape so that I could create the sky and ground by lightly sponging ‘tumbled glass’ and ‘bundled sage’ Distress Inks across the small clouds mask from the Build a Scene set. I coloured the little couple with Pergaliner pencils, then popped a mount of green Waimea Falls paper behind the topper to highlight the hearts.

I cut a strip of hearts from the Waimea Falls paper using the long doodle hearts frame-it dies, glued that across the front of a 5×5 card blank and sat the topper onto it. I finished with one of the bijou retro sentiments, again in the black Archival.

So that’s it from me for a little while – I’ll be back in a few weeks. Stay safe, everyone.

  1. First: have a restful break from blogging! Second: the little stick figure looking stamps are a fun new set and how you’ve paired the couple with the die-cut hearts framing and the row of hearts ‘chain’ across the middle makes for a terrific CAS engagement card! Wonderful!

  3. What a great CAS take on our sketch Deborah! I love the way your green heart frame ties in with the row of dividing ones too. Thanks for playing with us over at The Paper Players this week! Safe travels – looking forward to reading/hearing all about it!

  4. Deborah I’ve been really missing my daily Deborahs blog for great but simple inspiration.

I was concerned you’d given up and I’d missed the announcement but decided to search for a reason. I’ve just read you are having a little break which is very understandable as you are always so busy.

Your simple uncluttered works of art are a huge inspiration to me I’m a huge Clarity fan so have all the gear!

Hope you come back raring to go again, soon. Jill
