CAS Colours & Sketches 567 – August colours

Hello friends and welcome to our new challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches! I’ve put together these lovely soft colours for summer and decided they would work well with the latest stencil from Clarity’s Crafts Club. I’m sharing my DT card with a couple of other challenegs as well – the club stencil makes it an obvious choice for Stencil Fun (although I didn’t take their optional twist of trees) and my flowers pick up the ‘blooms’ element of Triple B‘s challenge

I cut a piece of stencil card to fit on a 5×7 card blank, then laid the stencil on it together with the additional piece that fits into the aperture and sponged ‘saltwater taffy’ and ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxides through the flowers and leaves. After removing the separate segment, I could then lightly brush ‘salvaged patina’ across the clouds mask to create the sky in the aperture area.

I added one of the Rub On sentiments over the sky, together with the little birds stamps. A simple mount of Antarctica companion paper finished it perfectly to then attach to the 5×7 card blank.

So what do you think of my colours? There’s more inspiration from my DT buddies over on the CAS Colours & Sketches website to get you started, and we can’t wait to see your creations in the gallery.
