best day floral spray

Hello crafty friends. After all the recent new goodies I’ve been sharing, I’m back today with one of my all-time favourite Clarity images – Tina’s floral spray.

This worked well for a few current challenges, starting with the beautiful colours from Sunday Stamps. We Love Stamping have got a floral theme and the regular florists at The Flower Challenge have asked us to add embellishments to our cards.

I’ve still got a large stash of inky mop-up backgrounds (I seem to be better at adding to it than using it!) and found the perfect one to start in two of the colours from Sunday Stamps. I added the floral spray in black Archival ink and then shaded it in using Pergaliner pencils. I was worried the blue leaves would look a bit odd (there’s no green in the challenge palette) but I like the way the colours have contrasted with the background, and the accents of orange on the little sprays.

I added a Rub On sentiment from the Birthday set and a mount of companion per. Having embossed a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder, I attached the topper to the card front. My final finishing touch was to add three small black enamel dots around the flowers to complete the third challenge – I used to use these a lot but have got out of the habit recently and it’s always good to pull previous styles in.

I could stamp with this image every day, but do try not to over-use it – this is only it’s second outing in 2025!

  10. Deborah, I do still love enamel dots – sometimes they are ‘just the ticket’ when we think a little something more would add a finishing touch! I love this wonderful floral image – use it all you want – and thanks so much for embellishing your beautiful card for The Flower Challenge!
