London Christmas

Hello friends and welcome to Wednesday’s blog. I’m back in my weekly Christmas card routine (for now) with a final look at a sample I made with the new Sketchy stamp set, this time adding in the Winter Build a Wreath stamps (yes, I know I said I’d put all these away…!!) I’ve added in the new R for Robin theme at ABC Christmas, ‘snow in August’ from Make My Monday and the usual ‘anything goes’ at Peace on Earth

The first step was to stamp the small Big Ben image onto a 3.5″ square of stencil card using ‘potting soil’ Archival ink. I cut a mask for it from Clarity’s blank material, then lined up one of the circles on the A4 aperture mat stencil over it and blended ‘tumbled glass’, ‘broken china’ and ‘chipped sapphire’ through it. Having removed the mask, I added the holly and ivy stamps from the Build a Wreath set with ‘library green’ Archival ink. I then perched the robin from the wreath set at the top, using the corner of the ink pads to first catch his tummy in ‘festive berries’ and add ‘walnut stain’ around his head and back.

It was then time for a quick bit of shading on Big Ben with Pergaliner pencils, edging the topper with a brown Sharpie and popping one of the Christmas Rub On sentiments into place. I sat the topper on a mount that I’d cut from white card with the lattice doodle frame-it panel dies before sitting it within an embossed frame that I’d created on the front of a 6×6 card blank with a nested square embedder. The final touch was to add falling snow with a fine white Posca pen.

What do you think of my little seasonal London scene with that chirpy robin?
