picnics at As You See It challenge

Hello again and welcome to a second post for today. This time I’ve got our new challenge at As You See It to introduce you to – Heather has given us the perfect summer theme of ‘picnics’! I just had to reach for the Lemon Tree set from Linda’s In The Garden collection which has this fab picnic scene in it (I had these stamps on my Clarity Social TV show back in June).

I haven’t used any of my inky mop-up pieces for a little while, so pulled a suitable one out of the folder and stamped the picnic set onto it with black Archival ink, adding the leafy image from the Deck Chairs set into the corner with ‘library green’ Archival. I then spent a happy few minutes shading the images with my Pergaliner pencils.

Once coloured, I covered the picnic image with the pre-cut mask that comes with the stamps, then used a landscape mask and ‘rustic wilderness’ Distress Oxide to add the ground into the picture. I also popped mini moon mask into the sky and sponged a little ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across it to create the sun. The sentiments came from Barbara’s Summer Wreath & Jazz’s Just Because stamp sets and I added a mount of the 4×4 companion paper. I embossed a frame onto the front of a 6×6 card blank using a square embedder and popped the topper to sit within it.

Hop on over to As You See It to find more inspiration from my design team-mates and then why not come and join our picnic with your own delicious take? My card is heading off to make an appearance in the galleries at The Four Seasons, who are still celebrating summer, and at TicTacToe – I picked up their top row of friendship, summer and CAS.

  2. How beautiful! The shape of that umbrella combined with the soft colours gives the card a really nostalgic, or maybe even exotic, feel. I’d like to be going to your picnic!
