circles or fruit?

Hello there. I’m late posting today after a busy day meeting with friends – always a joy to catch up with my besties, swapping news and making plans! Anyway, I wanted to share the last of my demos from Friday’s Clarity Social TV using Sam’s Shapes stamps – this time it’s the I’ll Get Round To It circles!

It’s fascinating with these sets of shapes to spend time looking at what seem to be random patterns and then working out what they could possibly look like. I found a few of them that I thought resembled slices of fruit, so thought we could enjoy some healthy fruit salads with them! For this first one, I just used one of the outline stamps that looks like a citrus fruit, stamping it onto a piece of Clarity’s 3.5″ stencil card with ‘bright tangelo’ and ‘chrome yellow’ Archival inks. I then switched to the solid round stamp to infill the images, using ‘carved pumpkin’ and ‘squeezed lemonade’ Distress Oxides, to give me a sheet of oranges & lemons.

For the second card, I switched to another of the outline images, stamping a random pattern with it using ‘sepia’ Archival and ‘tattered rose’ Distress Oxide. I used the solid stamp again, but this time with ‘twisted citron’ Oxide to give me a few kiwi fruit. Now credit must go to my friend Jean who, when she saw the stamp of little dots said ‘oh, they look like pomegranate seeds’ – so that’s what they became with a little ‘candied apple’ Distress Oxide!

I popped both toppers onto co-ordinating mounts of Clarity’s companion paper and attached them to 5×5 card blanks. No sentiments as yet – I just wanted to enjoy the full effect of the fruit!

And after the cake cards I’ve been sharing over the last month, I thought it was time for something a bit healthier and summery! What do you think of my fruity shapes?
