summer birthday wreath

Hello crafty friends! I make no apologies as I’m back yet again with Clarity’s Summer Build a Wreath stamps, this time with a birthday card. I blame Just Us Girls as their moodboard immediately made me reach for this set again, together with the ‘summer birthday’ theme at AAA Birthday and a final offering for Word Power

As always, I started with a pencil guideline, this time around an oval embedder onto a piece of card that I’d cut to fit on an A6 card blank. I first stamped two of the leafy sprays around the oval using ‘evergreen bough’ Distress Oxide, then added in the flowers and embellishments – ‘carved pumpkin’ for the flowers, ‘stormy sky’ for the swirls and ‘tattered rose’ for the little butterflies.

I always try a few papers against a topper when choosing a mount – do I go with the main colours or one of the accent ones? This time round I liked the effect of picking out the blue with a piece of Antarctica companion paper. I added one of the Birthday Rub On sentiments into the wreath before attaching the topper to an A6 card blank.

Thanks for dropping in. The weather’s been cooler today and we’ve had some heavy rainstorms, which I know my garden flowers are grateful for! There are thunderstorm warnings in place for the next couple of days as well – more reason to stay in and craft!
