CAS Colours & Sketches 564 – Joanne’s sketch

Hello crafty friends and welcome to our latest challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches where my good friend Joanne has given us a lovely sketch to play with. I dipped back into my stash for a couple of stamp sets from Clarity’s KISS (Keep It Simple Stamping) range – the Meadow Flowers and the Dandelion Heads. They work so well together and I’ve combined them into my little group of flowers.

Additional inspiration today comes from the gorgeous summery palette at Color Throwdown, with another contribution to the ‘blooms’ at Triple B

I worked directly onto a 5×5 card blank, first stamping a little group of the Meadow Flowers and a few leaves in ‘picked raspberry’ Distress Oxide. I then went over the flowers with one of the Dandelion Heads stamps in ‘carved pumpkin’, adding in a few additional leaves as well, before sponging a little ‘gathered twigs’ Distress Ink across a torn piece of copy paper for the ground.

I finished with the sentiment from the Meadow Flowers set, again in the ‘gathered twigs’.

Lovely and simple, with these hot summery colours! I did wonder about making the ground brown, then took a look at my own garden which is looking pretty parched after the recent heatwave (although we did get a little rain this morning). The hot weather is due back again by the weekend, though!

  1. I’m so behind on the computer. Guests and a sick hubby mean no time in my craft room. Love this though. It is pretty and I’ve always liked that sentiment.
