French lace stripes

Hello crafty friends and welcome to another look at the new French lace sampler stamp set from Clarity. I went down a different route with this one, tying in a striped background made with one of the Pergacolour pens.

The first step was to create the background on a 5×5 card blank. I lined up a square that I’d cut from the blank mask material onto the centre of the card. I pencil marked out the stripes at 1cm intervals, then drew them in with a grey Pergalolour pen. Using the mask material for the centre meant that I could draw straight across it, so I didn’t get a dot at the point where I’d stopped.

I stamped the lace square into place (it’s the top left stamp in the set) using ‘watering can’ Archival ink and shaded it with pink and green Pergaliner pencils. I could then create an inner frame around it by embossing a small square embedder, finishing with one of the KISS word stickers.

These images are just so pretty and I do like the contrast with the narrow stripes – I might have to try this with other stamps.
