French Lace stamps

Hello friends! It’s the weekend again already, but as it’s the beginning of the month Barbara Gray will be back on Clarity Social TV tomorrow afternoon with a beautiful new set of stamps based on French lace designs. I thought I’d kick it all off with a sneak peek here – I’ve taken the colours from the current challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments and the ‘blooms’ theme from Triple B for this CAS birthday card.

This is an A4 set, consisting of several lacy square images and three rectangular frames, plus the sentiments. I took a 5×5 card blank, stamped one of the frames into the centre and then added the square image within it, all in black Archival ink. I then simply shaded the image with Pergaliner pencils, picking out the flowers & leaves with B pencils and using an A (aqua) one with a waterbrush for the background, which left those lovely swirls white.

I felt it needed framing, so embossed around it with a rectangle embedder and a ball tool – the embedder was a little too long so I did the top and part of both sides first then repositioned it to sit correctly for the bottom edge and finished going round it. Finally I added one of the lovely script sentiments.

I’m looking forward to seeing how Barb uses these stamps tomorrow – 3pm on Clarity Social TV.

  1. A soft and gorgeous card! The way that you colored this is lovely! I like how you left some of the areas white and then used the colors from the challenge. Thanks for joining the hand stamped sentiments challenge!
