all the coffees

Hello friends. I’m back with another of my samples from Friday’s Clarity Social TV shows – today it’s a couple of sets from Linda’s Coffee Quartet – Coffee & Friends and Visit, Sit, Stay, Drink. That’s one of the great things about these stamp sets – they mix and match so well.

Staring with a square of stencil card, I laid the Abstract Layout 4 stencil over it and drew myself a pencil guideline from the central aperture. I stamped the mug from the Coffee & Friends set to sit in the centre at the base of the aperture, then covered it with the pre-cut mask that comes with the set. Before reinking it, I covered the swirls on the stamp with low tack tape, inked the mug with black Archival, lifted the tape off and added it alongside the first mug. I repeated the process so I had a trio of mugs.

There’s just one of the mug masks with the stamps, but it’s easy to cut additional ones from Clarity’s blank mask material – you need all three to be covered. I dropped the Abstract Layout stencil back into place and brushed ‘dried marigold’ Distress Oxide through it. After lifting the masks from the mugs I coloured them with a blue Pergaliner pencil (A4).

Then came the fun part! There are 16 coffee words in the Visit, Sit, Stay, Drink set and I used all of them around my mugs! They’re lovely little stamps and Clarity’s stamp pens were perfect mounts – I started with the middle word in each section, then added the ones above and below in the hope that they’d be (relatively) evenly spaced. I added the sentiment across the bottom, followed by a mount of Antarctica companion paper and popped the whole piece onto a 5×5 card blank.

I am a serious coffee drinker (although virtually all decaff these days) so this one is right up my street! I’m also going to share this card with the challenges at Addicted to Stamps & More and Inkspirational, who’ve both got stencils as their themes plus Inkspirational have an optional twist of ‘geometric’, so all the boxes are ticked!
