Let’s eat cake at As You See It challenge

Hello crafty friends. I’m busy on Clarity Social TV today with shows featuring gorgeous stamps drawn by Linda Williams. I demo’d this tasty offering on the 10am show and it was the perfect opportunity to use the new colours for our next challenge at As You See It. As it happens, I chose this palette back at the beginning of the year (and was definitely thinking of summer flowers at the time), but they work for this yummy afternoon tea spread as well!

I created this tempting display by combining two of the stamp sets in the collection. First was to stamp the teapot and table from the Stay Calm Drink Tea set onto one of Clarity’s small 3.5″ stencil card squares. I covered it with the pre-cut mask that comes with the stamps (there’s no way I’d have been able to cut one to fit by hand!) and then stamped the cake stand from Piece of Cake to sit behind it.

I picked out three Pergaliner pencils in the challenge colours and shaded in all the goodies in the picture. I added drop shadows around it as well using a couple of grey Polychromo pencils.

I cut a mount of Waimea Falls companion paper using the hearts square doodle frame-it panel die, then embossed a frame on the front of a 6×6 card blank using one of the square embedders. After attaching the topper to the card front, I finished with one of the Birthday word stickers which I also popped onto a piece of the Waimea Falls paper.

You can catch up on this morning’s show over on Clarity’s YouTube page. And then why not come and play along with us at As You See It – we’d love to see how you use our colours!

  1. You’ve created the cutest little scene with all your line-drawing images! I love this! You have a knack for combining just the right images and colors!

  2. Choosing a stamp set with such delicate details allows these colours to be used in much smaller quantities and really tones them down and gives them a whole new look. Love that books pink border too!
