hippie chick

Hello everyone. Well, in honour of the heatwave here I’ve brought one of Clarity’s Hippie Chicks out to play – she’s suitably dressed in her crop top and shades! I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches to show her off (although I moved the sentiment, having not checked properly before I stamped it!)

This is another one right in my happy CAS place! I cut a piece of stencil card at 4.5″ then stamped one of the Chicks and the sentiment below her using black Archival ink.

This is another set of Clarity’s that comes with co-ordinating infill stamps for the outlines, so I sponged ‘candied apple’ Distress Oxide onto the stamps for the trousers, top & hat and added them to the image. I inked up the little flower infill with ‘mustard seed’ and popped that into place too.

I shaded the Chick’s skin with a Pergaliner pencil, then used a yellow one to draw over the curls for her hair. I still thought it looked a little stark at this point, so used the small clouds mask from the Build a Scene set brushing ‘tumbled glass’ across it for a soft sky behind her. I finished by brushing a little ‘rustic wilderness’ across one of the ground masks in the set and then simply attached the topper to a 5×5 card blank (no Sharpie’d edges or embedder frames this time!)

I have to confess that I bought these stamps last year (they were first released while I was on holiday), but they haven’t seen any ink until now! That’s why I’m also adding this to the gallery at Neglected Stuff – although I don’t think this will be last time you see this set of lovelies!

  1. What a fun card, reminds of the era I was in ‘back in the day’ as they say LOL! Thanks for joining us at The Neglected Stuff!
