Hello crafty friends and welcome to Saturday! It’s been a beautiful day here, so the little hedgehog stamp from May’s Clarity Craft Club decided to come out and play! I’ve used the sketch at Atlantic Hearts as the basis for my layout and this little chap is perfect for the nature theme at We Love Stamping.

I started with a 4″ square of Clarity’s stencil card, covered part of the line on the hedgehog stamp with low tack tape and inked him up with black Archival. I cut a mask for him from Clarity’s blank material and covered him over.

I then set about creating the background using the Build a Scene mask set, first brushing ‘mowed lawn’ over the grass mask from the ‘trees & meadow’ sheet, followed by ‘rustic wilderness’ over the tree & horizon. I then switched to the small clouds mask from the ‘clouds & hills’ sheet, brushing ‘broken china’ across it to create my sky.

Mr Hedgehog looked a lot healthier after I’d shaded him with my Pergaliner pencils! I added the sentiment from the Club stamp set, part masking it before inking it so that I could add it in two parts rather than one straight line. I then used a rule and a micron pen to extend the stamped line and draw an inner frame around the rest of the card, before running a black Sharpie around the edges. I simply attached it to a 5×5 card blank to finish.
