As You See It Challenge 350 – Joanne’s sketch

Hello friends. Here I am again, with a third offering for you today – this time it’s our new sketch at As You See It challenge. Joanne has given us a design that works perfectly for my CAS style – although it did pose me a bit of a challenge (read on for the details…) I decided to put Clarity’s Mega Build a Landscape sets into use (they were still waiting to be put away after Tuesday’s card).

It was an easy start with a piece of card cut to fit on an A6 blank. I lightly brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide into the top area and then stamped three trees from the ‘trees & people’ set, using ‘watering can’ Archival.

Now, this is where I got a bit challenged & had to think laterally! Joanne’s sketch has twine and a bow on it, but I couldn’t get it to look right on my card – instead I opted to draw a ground line under the tree with a micron pen and then added the stag (from the Buildings & Animals set) in black Archival. He’s got a similar shape to the bow, don’t you think?! I also used a grey Polychromo pencil to add shading below the stag and trees.

I popped it straight onto the A6 card blank and then finished with a word sticker that I rimmed down slightly to make it narrower.

There’s lots more inspiration from my design team buddies over on the As You See It blog, to hopefully start your creative juices and encourage to you play along with us! In the meantime, I’m going to share this with a couple more challenges – We Love Stamping‘s theme is ‘nature’ and Simply Clean & Simple always have an ‘anything goes’ option.

  1. And I thought I went CAS with this sketch! Your card is just beautiful Deborah – and your ground and deer for the twine and bow is genius. CAS perfection!!

  2. A very tranquil CAS Winter scene and nice to see some of the ‘Wee Folk” from years ago in the new Clarity scene sets, many thanks for sharing with us at We Love Stamping challenge.
