Hello crafty friends. I’ve just got a quick post to share with you today featuring this week’s Christmas card – and it’s a variation on the one I made last week! I was busy demonstrating this version, which also uses the winter build a wreath stamp set plus Clarity’s fab new Rub On Sentiments, at their Open Days last Friday and Saturday. That means there are no ‘in progress’ photos, but I made a couple of discoveries in the set that I wanted to share with you!

I essentially followed the same process for building the swag as I did last week (you can read that here), but this time I used a circle, rather than oval, embedder to create my two semi-circle pencil guidelines. I stamped the ivy in ‘pine needles’ Distress Ink, the holly with the same pad but in second generation, the berries in ‘gathered twigs’ and the poinsettia in ‘fired brick’. There were a couple more additions then that weren’t on last week’s card. There’s a lovely little dried orange segment stamp, so I added a few of those in ‘carved pumpkin’ Distress Oxide. Finally, I actually spotted a stamp that I had completely failed to notice previously despite having this set for about 6 months! In my defence, there are over 30 stamps in the set, but I realised there was a little bauble on a string in the bottom right corner! Well that was impossible to resist as a final addition to the swag – I used the edge of the ink pads to ink it up in ‘gathered twigs’ for the string and ‘fired brick’ for the bauble and hung 3 from the swag for good measure!

I have to confess here that I didn’t actually add the sentiment myself! My lovely Clarity DT buddy, Jane Telford, was demoing next to me with the new Rub On Sentiments and I was passing her a few of my samples to add them to as we were going along! She popped this beautiful gold one on for me – the Rub Ons look like they’re printed on the card! I did do the final finishing, though, adding a mount of red Rainbow River companion paper adn attaching it to a 5×7 card blank.

Now, you all will know by now that my goal has been to make one Christmas card each week, but check out this little haul I’ve got from the weekend’s demonstrations! They just need the finishing touches and then that’s another six in the bag!

And finally, I’m off to share my finished card in the galleries at Addicted to CAS who’ve got a floral theme, and at Peace on Earth & Merry Little Christmas both of whose themes are ‘anything goes’.
