deer reflection

Hello everyone! Sunday already and I’m a bit late with this post after a busy few days at Clarity’s Open Days event. It was great to have Janice Phillips there as well, showcasing her newest stamps – I haven’t had time to play with those yet, so here’s a look back at her previous Timestamp Creations collection and the ‘snapshots‘ set, which is a collection of little images, mirroring some of her earlier ones. For this card I added in the little image from the take a moment and picked up the tones from Colorful Options.

I found the perfect piece of watercolour card in my stash – I can’t remember when I’d made it! Anyway, it was a very lucky find and I started by stamping the deer from the ‘snapshots’ set onto it in ‘library green’ Archival ink. I then took the mirror image of the stamp from the ‘take a moment’ set, inked it with ‘salvaged patina’ Distress Oxide, spritzed it with water to soften the image and stamped it to look like a reflection in the water.

I trimmed the background piece down to a square and used a torn piece of copy paper and a sponge to add a little more of the ‘library green’ either side of the first image. I stamped the sentiment from the ‘snapshots’ set in black Archival, then added a mount of Antarctica companion paper. I used a square embedder embedder to emboss a frame onto a 5×5 card blank and attached the topper within it.

I’m very happy with this calm little scene – I could do with sitting here myself!
