Elementree leaf

Hello crafty friends. I’ve had a fab (but tiring) couple of days with lots of friends from the Clarity Crafts community while I’ve been demonstrating at their Open Days – it’s just so good to catch up in person with social media friends! I’ve been sharing inspiration using the Elementree stamp sets, and realised that I still had the last of my original DT cards from their launch to share with you, so here it is! There was a new Leafy BOW-WOB set of papers launched with the stamps and I’ve made use of one of those too. It’s perfect for a birthday celebration I thought, so I’m going to share it with Seize the Birthday

I started with one of the BOW-WOB papers, dragging ‘salty ocean’ and ‘mowed lawn’ Distress Oxides across my gelli plate then laying the paper onto it to pick up the colour. I also pulled a few prints onto stencil card with the ink that remained on the gelli plate – they’re saved to use another day!

I trimmed a green strip of the paper, used a ruler and black Sharpie to edge one side of the paper and attached it down the side of a piece of card that I’d cut to fit on a 5×7 card blank. I took one of the leaves from set 2 of the stamps (I think this might be an acer), used a sponge to blend the ‘salty ocean’ and ‘mowed lawn’ onto it and planted on the centre of the card.

I edged the white card with the black Sharpie and attached it to a 5×7 card blank, finishing with a black KISS word sticker.

I’m so blessed to be part of Clarity’s team – they are a fab bunch of people to work with. My only regret about the Open Days is that I’m so busy demonstrating there’s no time to wander round and see what all my design team buddies are doing – I guess every silver lining has a cloud!!
