Hello crafty friends. I’m back with another look at the fab big SHAC people stamps that Clarity released this week – today I’m playing with a couple of the characters from set 1 that I thought looked rather oriental! I’ve gone for a gatefold card – they’re bowing their way in to the lovely pagoda from the geisha & waterhouse stamp set.

So, I’ve pulled a few challenges together for this card too. Double D are looking for designer papers this time round, which works perfectly for Love Those Pretty Papers too. Make My Monday‘s theme is fun folds, which is why I opted for a gatefold ddesign.

I first made myself a 5×5 gatefold card blank by cutting down one of Clarity’s large pieces of stencil card to 5″ by 10″, then scored it on the long side at 2.5″ and 7.5″. I found some offcut pieces of Antarctica paper and trimmed those down to fit on the card (two strips for the front panels and a square for inside. Next was to stamp the images onto the paper with black Versafine Clair ink – I heat embossed them with clear powder which makes the black more solid. I shaded them in with pink & purple Pergaliner pwncils and highlighted the pagoda/waterhouse with a white Posca pen.

After edging all the pieces with a black Sharpie and a rule, I glued the waterhouse square to the inside of the card. I then folded over one front panel and attached the paper to it – having it folded meant I could line it up with the inside panel. I then simply repeated that process for the other side.

Here’s the finished product – I simply added one of Clarity’s new woodblock stickers to the inside as a final touch.

Thanks for dropping in. I’m busy prepping for Clarity’s Open Days at Ditton in Kent on 30th & 31st May, where I’ll be demonstrating. There are still tickets available – they’re such fun days to connect with people from all over the country (and further afield!) so come and join us if you’re free (there are lots of hotels nearby). Several of my design team colleagues will be there, with Barbara & Paul too – there are make & takes, advice clinics, demonstrations running all day, refreshments, an hourly raffle of Clarity goodies (your ticket enters you into that) and, of course, shopping opportunties!

A wonderful way to use these stamps and I love how you used the PP as the background for them.

Love how you did this – and nice to see a fun fold that I might actually achieve as no real measuring!
