CAS Colours & Sketches 560 – four square

Hello friends. I’ve got a bit of a reflective card to share with you today for our new layout at CAS Colours & Sketches, as we said a sad farewell to our lovely disabled cat, Tom, last week. My card is pretty stripped back so I’m also sharing it with Simply Clean & Simple.

As soon as I saw the sketch, I thought of creating a little window scene using the smallest of Clarity’s nested square dies. I took a 5×5 piece of stencil card and drew myself pencil guidelines to quarter it, so that I could line up the die (fairly) accurately to cut the four windows.

I ran low tack tape around the edges of a 6×6 card blank, then brushed ‘broken china’ Distress Oxide across the clouds mask from the build a scene set into the centre of the card

It was a simple matter to then stick the die cut topper onto the card front, giving me a sky through my windows. I stamped one of the felines from Clarity’s wee cats onto a scrap piece of card, fussy cut him and sat him in front of the window, finishing with one of the Clarity word stickers and a few micron pen birds.

Our lovely Tom had a degenerative neurological condition and we always knew he wouldn’t make old bones, but it was still hard and the house feels very quiet without him crashing into furniture, falling off the sofa or down the stairs (having hauled himself up there when we weren’t looking!) and shouting for us when he got stuck somewhere or wanted feeding!!
