Hello crafty friends. Bit of a late post again today – I’ve had a great afternoon with my craft group making cards with teabags and I thought I’d share them with you too! I really enjoy this technique of stamping on dried teabags (I’ve posted it a couple of times before) – it’s a great vintage feel, but I’ve discovered it works really well with pastel colours too. The flowers on today’s cards are from Linda’s floral collection by Clarity Crafts – I went with the tatty tulips and agapanthus blooms.

Of course, I’m sharing these with a few challenges! My layout is a slightly loose interpretation of the one at Sketch Saturday, I picked up the ‘spring flowers’ theme from Hand Stamped Sentiments and they also work for the ‘blooms’ aspect of Triple B‘s challenge.

Apologies, as I forgot to take ‘in progress’ photos as I went along when prepping these, but here’s the basics of what I did. Having dried out my teabags, I gently tore them along ne edge and emptied out the tea leaves. I then used a glue stick to completely cover the teabag and smoothed it down onto a piece of stencil card. Having given it a minute or two for the glue to dry, I ran low tack tape across the bottom edge of the card and then stamped the ‘tatty tulips’ onto the teabag with black Archival ink. It was easy to shade them in with Pergaliner pencils (you just need to be careful not to press too hard and rip the teabag). I added a co-ordinating pink frame with the ‘lattice’ doodle frame-it panel dies and then attached the whole topper to a 5×5 kraft card blank.

I went for blues on my second card using the ‘agapanthus’ stamp.

And here are this afternoon’s fab creations from my craft group – what’s wonderful is that none of the cards are identical!
