CAS Colours & Sketches 559 – blue-green colours

Hello everyone! It’s time for our next challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches and we’ve got a beautiful palette of blue and green tones for you. I decided they’d work well with the current sketch at The Paper Players, so that’s what I did!

So it was another good excuse (not that I really needed one) to play again with the new elementree stamps from Clarity, and this time I paired them up with one of the fab new leafy BOW-WOB (black-on-white, white-on-black) papers as well.

I first wanted to add colour to one of the BOW-WOB pieces of paper, so out came my gelli plate. I dragged ‘tumbled glass’ and ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxide across it and laid the paper lightly on it. When i lifted it off, I had colour on the printed paper and coule also lift a print from the remaining ink on the gelli plate. I did this a few times to build up the colour on the BOW-WOB paper.

Having done all that I cut a strip from the paper and attached it to a square of stencil card. Love the way I’ve managed to get the colours blended onto the paper.

I then used a small nested square die to cut a topper from one of the prints that I’d pulled from the gelli plate – it’s got a lovely pale blue background. I chose one of the ‘elementree’ leaves, sponged ‘chipped sapphire’ and ‘lucky clover’ Distress Oxide onto it and stamped it onto my little topper.

I ran a black Sharpie around the edges of the topper and popped it over the strip of BOW-WOB paper. I edged the larger card with the Sharpie as well and attached it to a 6×6 card blank. The final touch was to add one of the ‘essentials sentiments’ and a tiny leaf from the set in ‘lucky clover’.

So do come on over to CAS Colours & Sketches and show us how you’ve used these fab colours. We’d love to see you in our gallery – just remember to keep your card CAS!
