starry wishes

Hello crafty friends and welcome to this week’s Christmas card! I’ve amazed myself that I’m still on track with one of these each week – better than I did last year, where things got a bit more patchy! This time round I’ve gone with Linda’s Wish Upon a Star stamp set, part of Clarity’s Christmas Compendium collection.

These are such pretty delicate images and once again I’ve managed to combine a few challenges into my card, starting with the sketch from AAA Cards. Helpfully the theme at Addicted to CAS is ‘star’ and I also brought in the stencil challenge from CAS on Friday.

So, I started with a small square of stencil card and brushed ‘tumbled glass’ Distress Oxide through the circle on the simple frames stencil. I kept the stencil in place and randomly stamped the sentiment from the set across the circle, still using the ‘tumbled glass’ ink.

I added the middle sized star from the set in ‘watering can’ Archival ink, together with the main sentiment. I wanted to make it look more sparkly, so went over the star with WOW’s clear ink pen and heat embossed it with their ‘clear sparkle’ powder, which gave it a fab shimmer. I dotted a few of the smallest solid star in the ‘tumbled glass’ using one of Clarity’s fab new stamp pens, which are perfect for little stamps. With a mount of Antarctica companion paper, the topper sat perfectly on a 5×5 card blank

The sparkle on the star didn’t show up in the main photo, so here’s a close up of that lovely shimmery glaze!

Thanks for dropping in. I’ll be busy tomorrow prepping for my Clarity Social TV shows on Friday (10am & 2pm) – check in again tomorrow evening and I’ll have a sneaky peek to share with you of some of the show’s goodies!
